Last weekend, we hosted our very first pop-up and exhibition, and honestly, it was one of the most fulfilling experiences I have had. The joy of meeting new people, seeing their genuine reactions to my creations, and stepping into this new chapter of my creative journey felt magical. I walked away with so many lessons—not just about my work, but about myself as a creative entrepreneur. Here are five reflections I want to share with you.
1. The Power of Connection
One of the highlights of the pop-up was the opportunity to connect with people in real life. Watching customers interact with the products I’ve poured so much love into—tea towels, blankets, wraps, and more—was incredibly heartwarming.
Hearing their stories, seeing their faces light up, and learning which designs resonated most reminded me of why I started creating in the first place. These connections made everything feel real, reminding me how art and design can build bridges between people.
2. Thoughtful Design Makes an Impact
I’ve always felt that great design should bring meaning and joy to everyday life. Seeing customers connect with the textiles and home goods we’ve created was a heartwarming reminder of why I do what I do. It reaffirmed that what we create has the power to brighten spaces and uplift others.
3. Preparation is Everything
A lot of work went into making the pop-up a success. From planning every detail of the layout to curating the perfect display, the behind-the-scenes effort was immense. But seeing it all come together so seamlessly made every moment worth it.
This experience reminded me of how important preparation is—putting in the work, even when it feels tedious or overwhelming. It’s often those small, thoughtful touches that end up making the biggest impact.
4. Creativity Has a Place in People’s Lives
One of the most humbling parts of the weekend was hearing how much my work meant to others. Seeing someone discover the perfect piece for their home or pause to admire the craftsmanship reminded me of the profound impact creativity can have on our daily lives.
What we make as artists and entrepreneurs has the power to inspire, comfort, and bring happiness to others. That realization was a gift in itself.
5. There’s Always Room to Grow
While I’m incredibly proud of how the pop-up turned out, it also reminded me that growth is a continuous journey. From the feedback I received to ideas for making the next event even better, I’ve walked away with a clearer vision of what’s possible. Every milestone is an opportunity to learn, and I’m excited to carry these lessons forward as I plan for the future.
